Danish police also equipped with Transics’s OCTET software
Transics, European leader in management solutions for the transport and logistics sector, announces that its French subsidiary DIS-Transics has equipped the Danish National Police with its OCTET software to help the country’s police forces check tachograph data. Prior to the Danish National Police, all other Scandinavian police forces had already adopted the DIS-Transics solution. “We are delighted that the Danish police has also chosen OCTET. In common with other Scandinavian countries, the Danish enforcement bodies will now be able to proactively monitor carriers and their drivers,” said Ingo De Schrijver, Sales Manager Transics Scandinavia.Inspired by enthusiastic testimonials from their colleagues in other Scandinavian countries, the Danish National Police approached Transics for a solution to help its road inspectors to analyse tachograph data on the spot. Contrary to their current software, the Transics solution offers immediate access to tachograph data, on the roadside, thus enabling inspectors to immediately check compliance with Danish and European legislation on driving and resting times.
Service tomes management for private transport and logistics companies and checks for authorities
Transics offers a very broad range of fleet management solutions. Its product offering for tacho data analysis targets the private as well as the public sector: it supports both companies and enforcement bodies. OCTET software was developed by DIS-Transics, the French subsidiary of Transics. As a renowned expert in its field with over 20 years’ experience, DIS-Transics has been part of the Transics group since 2007. Today, the company focusses on two major competencies: service times management for private transport and logistics companies and administrative checks for authorities. DIS-Transics’ software is used by hundreds of carriers throughout Europe and by the enforcement bodies in France and twelve other European countries.
Check tachograph data on the road
“In 2011, the Danish Police acquired a software suite developed by one of our competitors. The software offered all the analysis features they needed, but was inappropriate for use during roadside checks. Knowing that peer transport inspectors in other Scandinavian countries were perfectly able to check tachograph data on the road thanks to OCTET, the Danish police became interested. The software’s ease of use was one of the features that won them over, during a series of intensive tests. In addition, they were impressed by the expertise in tachograph data processing, which is evident from the range of data that can be processed and the detailed level of analysis, visualised in graphs and reports. This makes it for instance possible to compare the activities per driver, per vehicle or per period in a graph and enables analysis reports at the click of a button.
Moreover, we customised the calculation of infringements to meet the specific stipulations of Danish law, e.g. a tolerance of 5% or 5 minutes and privileges for the driver if several interpretations are possible.
For all these reasons, OCTET seemed the most logical choice for the Danish police. This new contract also perfectly illustrates our commitment to excellence and equip police forces all over Europe, thus improving their efficiency.” concluded Christian Vadant, General Manager of DIS-Transics.
